2 Arrested During DUI Saturation Patrol

The South San Francisco Police Department is one of four agencies that participated.

The Colma Police Department, Daly City Police Department, South San Francisco Police Department, and Burlingame Police Department conducted DUI Saturation Patrols on Saturday, November 15th, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 2 a.m. in the cities of Daly City and Colma. DUI saturation patrols are deployed in locations that have the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence and provide the greatest safety for officers and the public. These patrols were part of the San Mateo County Police Chiefs and Sheriff Association’s ongoing collaborative OTS funded STEP program, which aims to improve traffic safety on the Peninsula.

DUI saturation patrols have been shown to lower DUI deaths and injuries. A major component of these patrols are the deterrent effects they have on those who might drive drunk or drug impaired, bringing about more awareness and encouraging everyone to use sober designated drivers.

  • 65 Vehicles Stopped and Screened
  • 7 drivers administered field sobriety tests
  • 1 DUI - Alcohol suspect arrest
    • Dylan Cantu, 24 years old from San Francisco
  • 1 DUI warrant arrest

The saturation patrol was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
