BART Union Members To Vote On Contract On Friday

The BART board of directors will vote on the proposal in November if it's approved by SEIU and ATU members

Members of BART’s two largest unions will vote Friday on theproposed contract that union leaders and transit managers negotiatedΒ 10 days ago.

Workers represented by theΒ Service Employees International Union Local 1021Β andΒ Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1555Β will vote at various locations all day Friday.

The tentative contract reportedly provides union employees with a 15.8 pay increase over four years. It also requires them to make contributions to their pensions and pay more for their medical benefits.

If the workers approve the pact, theΒ BARTΒ board of directors will vote on the contract at its Nov. 21 meeting or at a special meeting before then.
