Strong Winds, Rain Cause 100+ Flight Cancellations at SFO
As of Wednesday afternoon, 54 departures and 58 arrivals had been canceled.

There have been more than 110 flight cancellations at San Francisco International Airport Wednesday because of strong winds and heavy rain in the area, an airport duty manager said.
Most of the 112 canceled flights are to and from airports on and around the West Coast, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Monterey, airport duty manager Nancie Parker said.

As of about 11:45 a.m., 54 departures and 58 arrivals had been canceled, Parker said. There also have been delays to remaining flights.
The Federal Aviation Administration estimates flights could be delayed as much as 171 minutes, but so far flights have been delayed only 30 to 60 minutes, Parker said.

Rain in New York and Philadelphia is also causing some delays to flights at SFO, Parker said.
Airport officials are recommending travelers check with their flight carrier before arriving at the airport.
