Coroner IDs Temecula Motorcyclist After Fatal Rainbow Canyon Rd Crash

The 55-year-old man died Monday while traversing the winding road into Temecula.

TEMECULA, CA — Thomas Flynn, 55, of Temecula, died Monday on Rainbow Canyon Road, according to the Riverside County Coroner's Bureau.

Shortly after noon, Flynn suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash that occurred at Rainbow Canyon Road, one mile west of Bayhill Drive, according to that agency. He was pronounced dead at the scene about 20 minutes following the crash and emergency officials closed the roadway for several hours during the subsequent investigation.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, preliminary investigations show that Flynn was traveling south on Rainbow Canyon Road when the motorcycle lost control.

"He collided with the front of an oncoming vehicle," Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez stated. "The driver and passenger of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital. It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in the collision."

His next of kin was notified, and no other information was immediately available.
