Power Outage Affects 1K+ Temecula Residents, Businesses

TEMECULA, CA — Just over 1,100 Temecula residents and businesses were without power Monday morning, officials from Southern California Edison confirmed.

The outage was reported at 9:19 a.m. in the area of Margarita Road and Temecula Parkway, according to reports from SoCal Edison.

The cause of the outage has not yet been released, and its source was not immediately identified.

Residents shared that power was out at the Temecula Walmart, Aldi, Albertsons and businesses in those shopping centers were temporarily without power. "Richie's Diner did go dark, but power was back on as of 10:45 a.m.," a restaurant worker told Patch.

By that time, roughly 600 customers had been restored to power, according to SoCal Edison. An additional 665 customers remained without power as of 10:15 a.m., they said.

Repairs were in progress, and full power was expected to be restored by 1:30 p.m. No other information was immediately available.
