Temecula Mayor Talks Quality Of Life In 'Just The Facts, Zak' Series
Mayor Zak Schwank spent a minute online discussing the new Quality of Life master plan and its meaning for the community.

TEMECULA, CA — What does it mean to look at the city of Temecula in an upbeat and informative way? Welcome to "Just the Facts With Zak." The new minute-long online series led by Mayor Zak Schwank showcases what life in Temecula is all about from his point of view.
Schwank is the perfect council member to talk about healthy living in our corner of Southwest Riverside County. The mayor enjoys skateboarding, bike riding and walking the trails of Temecula. Since he's hit the dias, Schwank has promoted outdoor activities, expanded bike trails and bike lanes, encouraged the building of pump tracks and outdoor activities for kids and adults, and more.
In the inaugural "Just the Facts with Zak," he discusses the "equity core values of fostering a healthy environment and providing prosperous opportunities for all residents of Temecula."

One of the ways to do that was with the annual Culture Fest. This event, held in mid-May, was led by the Community Services Department and coincided with World Day for Cultural Diversity. That celebration, held in the quad near City Hall, shared music, dance, and food for people of many cultures.

According to Schwank, it shows the entirety of the community and helps to foster a sense of belonging.

"People who feel connected to their community are happier and healthier and contribute even more to the city of Temecula," he said. "I hope you all can get outside and experience and enjoy everything Temecula offers."

Residents shared their thoughts on the new one-minute video on Facebook.
"Temecula has so many wonderful people from so many wonderful cultures!" one resident shared. "Thank you for celebrating all the great people from all our amazing cultures in beautiful Temecula."

Schwank, who was voted in by a unanimous council decision, advocates sustainable housing for all income levels, enhancing the City's plentiful park amenities and recreation facilities, promoting the arts, and celebrating culture and the City's wide range of diversity to provide an inclusive and family-friendly City for all.
"Like all growing and thriving cities, Temecula has its challenges and acknowledging them means we can tackle and overcome them," Schwank said. "Embracing challenge is a trigger for growth — economically, culturally, and as a community — and I believe we as Temeculans have always risen to the challenges put in front of us and conquered them. I look forward to the achievements we all make together as a City."
