• Valley Center man in custody after SWAT stand-off at porta potty (valleycenter.com) — An hours-long law enforcement standoff in Valley Center ended Monday when deputies arrested a man who had barricaded himself in a portable restroom after an alleged stabbing on Hilldale Road. Valley Center High School and nearby campuses were briefly placed on secure campus status, keeping students indoors with locked doors until the situation was safely resolved and the suspect taken into custody.
