LA County's Holiday DUI Arrests More Than Double
Throughout Los Angeles County and the state CHP DUI arrests more than doubled during the four-day New Year holiday period.
California Highway Patrol officers arrested 219 impaired drivers in Los Angeles County between New Year’s Eve and this morning, up from 104 in the year-ago holiday period.
Statewide, a total of 1,072 CHP drunken driving arrests were made on freeways and in unincorporated areas between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 6 this morning, compared to 457 in the comparable year-ago holiday period, according to the CHP.
The DUI arrest tally reflects only those made by the CHP, not local agencies.
