Police Seek Venice Grinch Who Stole UPS Package

Police are asking for the public's help finding a suspect caught on camera stealing a package from a Venice porch.

Police today sought the public’s help in identifying a suspect who stole a package from the porch of a home in Venice after it was delivered by UPS.

The suspect was caught in the act on surveillance video taking the package on Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Also caught on video was a blue compact Toyota sedan driving past the victim’s home, making a U-turn and passing the home again, police said.

“Within less than a minute, the suspect is seen committing the crime,” according to a police statement.

The suspect is possibly Hispanic and wore a red hoodie, black T-shirt with white lettering and black pants.

Anyone with information about the theft was urged to contact the Pacific Station detective investigating the case at (310) 482-6335. After-hours calls should be directed to (877) LAPD-24-7. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
