Samsung To Supply Next-Gen iPhone's A9 Chip

Samsung could be a major supplier of Apple’s new “A9” processor, which is expected to power the next generation iPhone, dubbed “iPhone 6s,” according to a new report.

The South Korean giant technology is said to be responsible for about 75 percent A9 chip production for the 2015 model allreli apple mfi certified usb lighting cable, Reuters reported, citing Maeil business newspaper, the South Korean publication. The newspaper did not say how much the contract was worth, or who will be involved in the drafting of a new processor for the iPhone 6s, but noted that the chip will be built at Samsung in Austin, Texas.

Although the report does not mention the Maeil other suppliers, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is expected to be part of the A9 supply chain, Apple Insider reported, adding that TSMC was producer A8 chip found on the newest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

6 iPhone and iPhone 6 Plus, Samsung is responsible for producing all series chips for Apple.

With the new aLLreli Waterproof Blutooth Wireless Speaker, upcoming A9 chip also said that power the next generation of iPad Air and iPad Mini, MacRumors reported, adding that Apple could launch a larger iPad, called “iPad Pro” which is rumored to be powered processor A8X.


Although little is known about the next iPhone model, which is expected to announce later this year, the recent rumors suggested that the device may have “dual-lens” camera module, to improve the performance of the camera in low light.

Daring Fireball John Gruber also said that in November Apple, which has long used one lens design with five elements on their cameras, working on “a strange system with two lenses” for future iPhone.
