Video: People Are Taking Back Venice Skate Park
Here's a look inside the underground move to take back the Venice Skate Park.

VENICE, CA — People in Venice want the skate park back so they decided to take it into their own hands, continuing Friday to remove sand from the pools and rails after crews dumped sand into the area and blocked off the park.
A group of local skaters, parents, kids and community members decided to start removing the sand this week with brooms and shovels, saying the area had been wrecked with glass, graffiti and debris after it was filled with sand.
Shacked Mag shared an Instagram video of people taking back the park, cleaning up and removing the sand earlier this week.

"Peck and crew are going to be working daily on getting all the sand out of the skatepark. The pool was finished up this afternoon, and the street section is next," Shacked Mag announced Thursday.
Venice's legendary skate park next to the Pacific Ocean was shut down with sand and barricades several weeks ago as Los Angeles County enacted its stay-at-home order.
