Young Yellow Lab Pup Stolen from Front Yard

So I wasn’t in a good place emotionally to write this yesterday, and while it’s only a tiny bit better today, the reality is I need help getting the word out on this.

Our sweet puppy Bodhi was taken/stolen from my house late Wednesday afternoon. It is too long of a story to explain how I’m certain he was stolen (as opposed to getting out and running away). He was in our gated front yard which is normally locked. However, it wasn’t locked when he was taken (which is my fault). And the gate was not completely latched when I got home from work. Someone came in and took him.

He is tagged and microchipped.

We have started putting up flyers in the neighborhood, have checked shelters, Craig’s List, etc. I have spoken with LAPD and the security company in our next neighborhood. I have talked with my neighbors.

My children have taken this surprisingly well, but they cried when they were told about this yesterday. I suspect there will be more tears.

I was warned several weeks ago by a handful of people about puppy-stealing. I just couldn’t imagine something like that could actually be true. From learning it the hard way, I’m now a believer.

I’m not posting this looking for sympathy or empathy. If you have concrete suggestions or heartwarming stories about pets being returned, that would be very welcome.
