Your Guide to the Biden Motorcade Traffic Delays

Local roads will be closed sporadically as Vice President Joe Biden attends the climate-change summit in Los Angeles.

With Vice President Joe Biden due in Los Angeles this afternoon for a speech at a climate-change summit, Southland motorists should anticipate the usual delays to accommodate motorcades.

Although Biden’s exact route is never made public in advance, the Los Angeles Police Department issued a list of areas motorists should try to avoid.

Here is a list areas motorists should avoid, according to police:

-- Pershing Drive between Imperial Highway and Manchester Avenue from 1 to 3 p.m.;

-- Imperial Highway between Vista Del Mar and Sepulveda Boulevard from 1 to 3 p.m.;

-- Santa Monica Boulevard between Sawtelle Boulevard and Rodeo Drive from 1 to 3 p.m.;

-- Wilshire Boulevard between Carmelita Avenue and Beverly Drive from 1 to 3 p.m.;

-- Rodeo Drive between Wilshire and Virginia Place from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.;

-- Olympic Boulevard between Camden Drive and Albany Street from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.;

-- 1th Street between Union Avenue and Georgia Street from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.;

-- Olympic between Georgia and St. Andrews Place from 6:30 to 8 p.m.;

-- Western Avenue between 11th and Fifth streets from 6:30 to 8 p.m.;

-- Sixth Street between Oxford Avenue and Lorraine Boulevard from 6:30 to 8 p.m.;

-- Crenshaw Boulevard between Wilshire and Country Club Drive from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.; and

-- Olympic between Bronson Avenue and Camden Drive from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Biden is due to spend the night in the Los Angeles area, some streets will also be impacted on Thursday morning, when the vice president will fly from LAX to Detroit. Motorists should avoid:

-- Santa Monica between Rodeo Drive and Sawtelle from 6 to 8 a.m.;

-- Imperial Highway between Sepulveda and Vista Del Mar from 6 to 8 a.m.; and

-- Pershing Drive between Imperial Highway and Manchester Avenue from 6 to 8 a.m.

The following streets will be fully closed to accommodate Biden’s visit:

-- Sixth Street between Bronson Avenue and Lorraine Boulevard from about 7 to 9 p.m.;

-- Irving Boulevard between Fifth Street and Wilshire Boulevard from about 7 to 9 p.m.;

-- Rodeo Drive between Wilshire and Charleville boulevards from about 11 a.m. today until 7 a.m. Thursday; and

-- El Camino Drive between Wilshire and Charleville from approximately 11 today through 7 a.m. Thursday.
