Gov. Brown Reappoints Walnut Creek Woman To Lottery Commission

Rowena T. Libang-Bobila has served on the commission since 2014.

Rowena T. Libang-Bobila, 47, of Walnut Creek, has been reappointed to the California Lottery Commission, where she has served since 2014, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced Friday.

Libang-Bobila has been principal attorney at the Rowena T. Libang Law Offices in Hayward since 2010.

She served in several positions at the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office Children and Family Services Division from 1995 to 2010, including lead trial attorney.

She was an immigration caseworker at the Office of U.S. Senator Alan Cranston from 1991 to 1992 and a fellow in the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs from 1990 to 1991. Libang-Bobila earned a Juris Doctor degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

She is a member of the California Minority Counsel Program, Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area and the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California.

This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem.

Libang-Bobila is registered without party preference.
