Clifford Avenue Water Main - First Update

The Field Services Division of the Public Works & Utilities Department began work on the Clifford Avenue Water Main Project on September 18th. The project, when completed, will have one thousand five hundred forty feet (1,450) of new 8" ductile iron water main, new residential services and new hydrants and system isolation valves.

The current Clifford water main in this area is well over 50 years old and historically has had some major mainline breaks. The new water main will reinforce our water system in this area by reducing system disruptions, improving water quality, and increasing system reliability.

As of September 23rd the following has been completed
  • Successfully completed the intersection work within 3 days with moderate traffic congestion
  • North-bound traffic on Clifford from Pennsylvania is closed off and detoured to Green Valley or Hammer
  • Temporary "No Parking" signs have been posted along Clifford and have been put in place
  • By end of 9/23/2013 (day-5 of the project) the crew has installed approximately 400'ft of water main

Public Works and Utilities' Field Services staff appreciates the community's cooperation and patience during the work on this very important project.
