Uber Will Drive Your Donations to Goodwill Today
Uber drivers are partnering with Goodwill Southern California to pick up your clothing donations for free until 4 p.m. Saturday.

Donating to Goodwill Southern California will be a lot easier today, when a one-day partnership will allow donors to summon a driver with the ride-sharing company Uber to pick up bags of clothing and have them dropped off at the charity.
The clothing-donation pickups will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today only. People who have clothes to donate can put them in bags, then use Uber’s smartphone app to summon a driver by selecting the “Give” option. A Uber driver will pick up the clothing and deliver it to Goodwill.
People who donate will receive an email next week with a receipt acknowledging the donation for tax purposes, according to Goodwill.

“This collaboration between Uber and Goodwill Southern California has made spring cleaning and donating an easy task, while ensuring that their clothing is not only diverted from landfills, but also goes toward supporting efforts to put people back to work,” Goodwill Southern California President/CEO Craig Smith said.
All clothing donations must be in bags, and donors are responsible for bringing the bags outside, since drivers cannot leave vehicles unattended, Goodwill officials said.
