3rd Death In Colorado From Coronavirus

Colorado's third death from the new coronavirus was reported in El Paso County, health officials said.

Colorado's third death from the new coronavirus was reported Thursday in El Paso County, health officials confirmed. The patient who died was a man in his 60s.

The man had contact with the woman in her 80s from El Paso County whose death was confirmed Friday, health officials said. She was Colorado's first death.

As of Wednesday afternoon, there were 216 cases of the new coronavirus in Colorado, and around 2,382 people had been tested, public health officials confirmed. Colorado's second COVID-19 death was reported in Weld County.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is continuing to monitor the spread of the virus and provide updates.

In an effort to combat the spread of COVID-19 and prevent more deaths, The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has issued an order that will limit gatherings to no more than 10 people for the next 30 days, "unless otherwise extended by the executive director" of the department. The order goes into effect Thursday morning.
