All Arvada City Facilities Close Amid Spread Of New Coronavirus
Arvada City Hall and other city-run public facilities have been closed, officials announced.
ARVADA, CO — The City of Arvada has announced the closure of all city facilities amid concerns over the spread of the new coronavirus in our state. The closures include public business, activities and municipal court at Arvada City Hall and all other public city facilities.
West Woods and Lake Arbor Golf Clubs and Majestic View Nature Center have also closed.
The closures, which began Monday, will run until March 27, officials said.

"The city will continually evaluate the situation and end or extend the closure as circumstances change," read a City of Arvada public notice. "The city’s focus is the health and wellbeing of residents and members of the city team, and continuing to deliver core services to the community."

Since January, the City of Arvada has prepared for the spread of COVID-19 by sharing infection prevention with the community and with city team members, providing additional training to employees, ensuring adequate supplies of safety materials and updating continuity of service plans, officials said.

On Friday, Arvada City Manager Mark Deven declared a State of Emergency. The declaration gives the city the flexibility to "quickly acquire and apply resources to support residents and partners," officials said.
