ARVADA, CO — City of Arvada facilities remain closed to the public until Friday, but officials said they are continually evaluating the spread of the new coronavirus and the closures could be extended as circumstances change.

The closures include public business, activities and municipal court at Arvada City Hall and all other public city facilities. West Woods and Lake Arbor Golf Clubs and Majestic View Nature Center have also closed.

The city is encouraging residents to share stories, tips and inspiration for thriving amid the COVID-19 outbreak at Speak Up Arvada. Mayor Marc Williams also posted a message of hope online in a video.

The Arvada Chamber of Commerce has released a workforce toolkit for businesses to connect resources. Arvada businesses are asked to take a survey about what resources are needed.

The chamber has also released a list of Arvada businesses that are hiring amid the outbreak.

Arvada City Manager Mark Deven declared a state of emergency earlier this month. The declaration allows the city to quickly acquire and offer resources to support residents and partners as COVID-19 spreads.
