Boulder County Man Faces 1st-Degree Arson Charge After House Fire
Fredrick Faerron-Crocket, 52, is accused of deliberately starting a house fire that caused an evacuation, Boulder County officials said.
BOULDER COUNTY, CO — A man is accused of starting a fire early Tuesday morning inside a home in unincorporated Boulder County, fire officials said.
Fredrick Faerron-Crocket, 52, faces multiple charges, including first-degree arson, second-degree arson, felony menacing and felony criminal mischief, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said. He lived in the home where he started the fire, according to officials.
A resident called 911 just after midnight and reported the fire in the 1300 block of Tipperary Street, around 6 miles east of Boulder. The fire filled the home with smoke and spread throughout the building.

"Due to a quick response, firefighters gained control of the fire that started to move into the home's walls, upper level, and attic," the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. "The residence suffered significant damage, but wasn't a total loss."
People and pets were evacuated from the home, and no injuries were reported, officials said.

"Deputies learned that there was a disturbance between two of the residents prior to the fire starting," the news release read.

The American Red Cross put up evacuees at a hotel, officials said.
Boulder County Sheriff's Office deputies, the Louisville Fire Protection District, the Lafayette Fire Department and Mountain View Fire Rescue were called to help fight the fire and evacuate residents.
The Boulder County Sheriff's Office was investigating the fire.
