People in Boulder County Warned to Take Caution with Dangerous Fentanyl Circulating in Illicit Drug Supply (bouldercounty.gov) — Boulder County Public Health is warning residents about a particularly dangerous form of fentanyl now circulating in the local illicit drug supply and urges everyone to carry naloxone and never use drugs alone. Officials share overdose-prevention tips, highlight rising local fentanyl deaths, and provide phone numbers and web resources for harm reduction support in Boulder County.
   

2. Newly approved Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan targets housing, land use (dailycamera.com) — Boulder's newly approved Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan sets long-term goals for housing, land use, and even future noise and fuel standards at Boulder Municipal Airport. It promotes more diverse housing types, 15-minute neighborhoods, and a target of 15% permanently affordable homes by 2035, guiding how the city and parts of the county grow.
   

3. Small wildfire burning in western Boulder County mountains (dailycamera.com) — Firefighters are working a small wildfire on U.S. Forest Service land near Bunce School Road, south of Allenspark in western Boulder County, that has burned about three-quarters of an acre. No people or structures are threatened, and multiple local fire districts plus the Sheriff's Office are on scene as officials continue investigating the cause.
   

4. Investigation into Boulder Planning Board Chair Laura Kaplan finds no violations (dailycamera.com) — An outside investigator found no city code violations by Boulder Planning Board Chair Laura Kaplan over her advocacy against the Boulder Municipal Airport. The probe stemmed from complaints about her role in pushing airport-related language in the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan and supporting a 2024 ballot measure, even as City Council weighs long-term funding that could keep the airport open indefinitely.
   

5. Inside the 2027 Sundance Film Festival Venues: Creativity Thrives at the Dairy Arts Center (sundance.org) — Boulder's Dairy Arts Center is set to become a key hub when the Sundance Film Festival relocates here in 2027, hosting screenings and the New Frontier program. With the Boulder Theater and Macky Auditorium also in the mix, locals can expect more independent films, global stories, and experimental art right in town, building on the Dairy's already strong Sundance-connected programming.
