Paraglider Crashes Into Home In East Boulder County

The paraglider is expected to recover, Boulder County officials said.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — A paraglider was injured when he crashed into a home Saturday in east Boulder County, officials said. The 68-year-old's injuries were not life-threatening, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said.

Officers were called to the 1000 block of N. 119th Street around 8:45 a.m. to help the paraglider. He was taking off on his second flight of the day, when he struck the home, officials said.

Witnesses said the paraglider was traveling at around 20 miles per hour and struck the home about 10 feet off the ground.

The 68-year-old was taken to a local hospital, and was expected to recover, officials said.

Lafayette and Erie first responders were also called to assist. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were notified and their response was not required for the incident, officials said.
