Veteran's WW2 Memorabilia Stolen From Boulder County Storage Unit
World War II memorabilia, which belonged to a veteran who died, was stolen from a storage unit, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said.
BOULDER COUNTY, CO — Several items, which belonged to a veteran who died, were recently pawned in Longmont, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. In October 2019, a unit at East Point Mini Storage, 12121 Sugarmill Road, was broken into and boxes of the veteran's personal property were taken, officials said.
The stolen items included distinctive World War II memorabilia, most notably two KABAR knives in display cases and a boxed John Wayne “Pacific Marine” action figure, the sheriff's office said.
The knives were sold to Grandpa’s Pawn in Longmont, and have since been resold to an unidentified buyer, officials said.
