Broomfield Names New City And County Manager
Charles Ozaki, the current city and county manager, will retire in August.
BROOMFIELD, CO — Broomfield City and County Manager Charles Ozaki has announced his retirement, and a new city and county manager will take his place. Ozaki will retire on Aug. 1, officials said.
Jennifer Hoffman has been appointed to the position after a month-long, nationwide recruitment effort. After reviewing 61 candidates, Broomfield City Council voted to appoint Hoffman to the position at a City Council meeting June 26.
Hoffman has 18 years of experience with the City and County of Broomfield. Her roles have included director of the combined courts, assistant to the city manager, director of communications and governmental affairs and assistant city and county manager. Hoffman has led staff development, the Innovation Ecosystem and partnered with Adams 12 and McWhinney Developers to launch a K-20 Stem School in Northern Broomfield.

“Jennifer's forward-thinking vision will be a great asset to Broomfield as we continue to grow our high standard of living, economic vitality, and cultural development. As Jennifer moves the organization forward on many new and exciting projects, she will have the support of a strong organization to ensure our success,” Ozaki said in a media release.

As city and county manager, Hoffman will assist Broomfield City Council with policy and legislative decisions, the coordination of municipal administration and the supervision of departments and employees. She will be the first woman to hold the position for Broomfield and only the third person to fill the role since 1968, city officials said.
Hoffman holds a Master’s of Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver and a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice. She is a member of the Colorado Municipal League, Colorado Counties Inc., the Adams County Youth Initiative, the Community Leaders Council and the Colorado City and County Management Association.
