For Buena Vista residents, that means classes will shift elsewhere, but a new Ron Southard Chaffee County Endowed Scholarship will prioritize local students, and remaining sale proceeds will support expanded programs at CMC's Salida campus.
2. 4. Three kids found after disappearing from family campsite in Colorado (denvergazette.com) — Three children who went missing from a family campsite east of Buena Vista were safely found about five hours later after a large search effort by Chaffee County rescuers and a tracking dog. The kids, from a Denver-area family group, had wandered roughly a mile and a half from camp before being located uninjured. Authorities are using the incident to stress tighter supervision of children in local backcountry areas.
