COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- State Rep. Dan Nordberg (R-Colorado Springs) said he planned to resign his seat in the Colorado General Assembly to take a position as regional administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration, he said Monday on Facebook:
I have been offered, and have accepted, an appointment by President Donald Trump’s administration to serve as the Regional Administrator (Region 8) for the Small Business Administration — a tremendous opportunity to continue serving Colorado, and our country, in a capacity I simply could not turn down...At or near the very core of our nation’s values, small business represents a lot of what America stands for — it’s the very fabric of our nation’s economic foundation. To be appointed to a position of this nature gives me an incredible opportunity to continue my passion for small business and promoting Coloradans’ abilities to live the American Dream — what a privilege!
He will oversee SBA operations in Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. Nordberg has been elected three times to El Paso County's House District 14.
Colorado House Republicans congratulated Nordberg on Facebook: "Your leadership and expertise will be greatly missed in the legislature, and we wish you continued success as the Region 8 Administrator."
