1 Dead After Denver Police Car Chase, Crash
An SUV thought to be connected to escaped inmate Mauricio Venzor-Gonzalez, 23, was chased by Denver PD and crashed after gunfire.

DENVER, CO -- Denver police tweeted that one person in Monday's officer-involved shooting near 41st Avenue and Albion Street has died. The second person in an SUV that was chased by undercover officers from a residence in Aurora was in stable condition, police said.
After the Monday morning escape of inmate Mauricio Venzor-Gonzalez, 23, who is still at-large, officers had staked out a home in Aurora, hoping to take Vendor-Gonzalesz into custody. When the SUV left the Aurora location at a "at a high rate of speed," according to police Spokesman John White, "it was believed that vehicle had a connection with our suspect."
The chase ended at 41st and Albion where shots were fired, White said. "We're not sure who fired the shots, whether it was the suspects or our officers." Two people in the SUV were taken to a hospital with injuries, White said.
