Capitol Hill Stabbing : Denver Police ID New Suspect

Police released a 5th photo and the name of a 19-year-old sought in connection with the stabbing death of Reese Grant-Cobb, 17, July 1.

DENVER, CO – Denver police on Thursday released a fifth image of a person wanted in connection with the July 1 stabbing death of a 17-year-old Denver boy on Capitol Hill.

Auviauntea Lescan Mique Evans, 19, was identified as a suspect in the stabbing that killed East HighSchool football star Reese Grant-Cobb around 11 p.m. in front of the Bourbon Grill in the 500 block of Colfax Avenue. Evans is described as a black male, 5 foot, 7 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. Police said Evans should be considered "armed and dangerous."

Police have said that Grant-Cobb was fatally stabbed after being assaulted by a group of attackers. One juvenile was taken into custody the night of the incident. Since then, police have released surveillance images of three men and a woman who are somehow involved.

"We'd like to talk to those people," a Denver police spokesman said.

Grant-Cobb had graduated from Denver School of Science and Technology and was headed to the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley where he planned to study Biomedical Engineering, according to a GoFundMe site posted by family friends. He played both football and basketball for East High School.

Grant-Cobb's funeral will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, at the City Park Pavilion. July 20, which would have been Reese's birthday will be a "day of service" family members posted on GoFundMe.

The East football team held a vigil for Grant-Cobb at the high school last week.

Grant-Cobb's mother, Beverly Grant, who owns the MoBetta Green Market begged the public to share knowledge about the possible suspects with police in an interview with CBS.

"Share information that you know about these people whose pictures are posted. Please pay that forward because this is just another thing that must be done," Beverly Grant said.
