Dancing FBI Agent May Have Been Drinking: Denver Cops

Preliminary reports identified the man as a Washington-DC based agent, age 29. Police still don't know if he was drinking.

DENVER, CO – The Denver police on Monday said they continue to investigate an incident where a gun was accidentally discharged by dancing off-duty FBI agent in a Denver nightclub.

9News identified the agent as Washington-DC-based Chase Bishop, 29.

A video went viral this weekend of Bishop showing off fancy dance moves, ending in a back flip and then accidentally firing a pistol that fell from his back belt. A patron was shot in the leg.

Police declined to identify the agent Monday. They asked any witnesses to come forward who haven't already spoken to investigators, and asked for help from anyone else who had video of the event that happened at 12:45 a.m. Saturday at Mile High Spirits, 2201 Lawrence Street.

Police said they are waiting for lab results "to determine if alcohol was a factor."
