Juvenile Charged In Denver Triple-Shooting That Killed 1
Daniel Valles-Nunez, now 18, is accused of shooting Christian Zapata, 19, and wounding two other men in a Denver alley.

DENVER, CO – Charges have been filed against a juvenile accused of shooting three men in an alley in Denver's Cole neighborhood last month, killing one of them.
Daniel Valles-Nunez, 18, who was 17 at the time of the crime, was charged as an adult July 12 with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder in the killing of Christian Zapata, 19, and the injury of two others around 11:15 p.m. on June 30 in the 3800 block of North Franklin Street, a statement from the Denver District Attorney's Office said.
Zapata died in a Jaguar as the three injured men tried to drive themselves to get medical care. Police stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Bruce Randolph Avenue and North Gaylord Street. The two wounded men were taken to a hospital.

The medical examiner determined Zapata died of gun shot wounds and that the cause of death was homicide. Zapata was one of six siblings, according to his obituary.
No further information is available, as the arrest affidavit for the case is sealed.

Valles-Nunez was booked into the Denver County jail on July 10 and is being held with no bond.
His next hearing is scheduled for Wednesday in Denver District Court.
