Dismissal granted for man suspected of kidnapping and sexual assault in Durango (durangoherald.com) — A felony kidnapping and sexual assault case tied to a Durango hotel room has been dropped after prosecutors said they couldn't meet the burden of proof and the alleged victim agreed not to proceed. The Bayfield man previously arrested is having related warrants quashed, and the district attorney emphasized a policy of only pursuing charges when evidence and victim wishes align.
   

4. State officials investigating after woman injured on alpine coaster in Colorado (abc7chicago.com) — Colorado regulators are investigating a serious injury on an alpine coaster at Copper Mountain, and a similar ride at Durango's Purgatory Resort has been shut down while the probe continues. The Texas rider's attorneys allege she was ejected and dragged despite wearing a seatbelt, prompting state oversight and safety reviews that could affect future coaster operations in Durango.
   

5. How The U.S. Riders Fared in the XCO World Championships (mbaction.com) — Durango riders made their presence felt at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Italy, with locals Riley Amos, Christopher Blevins, and Bailey Cioppa all representing Team USA. While podiums went to Europeans, Americans—including several Coloradans—posted solid top-40 finishes across elite and under-23 races, underscoring Durango's outsized role in world-class mountain biking.
