1. Weekly Jail Bookings for 9/20/26 to 9/26/26 (junctionnow.com) — Grand Junction residents can now see the full list of people booked into the Mesa County Detention Center between September 20 and 26, along with their charges and booking times. The report, compiled from public records under Colorado's open-records law, includes everything from DUI and domestic violence to probation violations and fugitive warrants.
   

2. Vehicle crashes into Grand Junction gas station (westernslopenow.com) — Emergency crews in Grand Junction responded Monday afternoon after a vehicle drove through the front of the Golden Gate Gas Station on G Road, causing major structural damage and at least one minor injury. Investigators say alcohol is not suspected and are still working to determine why the vehicle left the roadway, so expect ongoing repairs and possible disruption around the store.
   

3. Greenbelt project completes safety, infrastructure improvements (thebusinesstimes.com) — New sidewalks, crosswalks, and drainage upgrades along Greenbelt Drive and 22 1/2 Road are now finished, making routes to Broadway Elementary in Grand Junction safer and more accessible for students and families. Mesa County, the city, and School District 51 widened and resurfaced the road, added ADA-compliant access, and improved stormwater systems, all ahead of schedule and under the $1 million budget.
   

4. Community Recreation Center is officially open (westernslopenow.com) — Grand Junction's long-awaited Community Recreation Center is now open, offering residents gyms, five pools, kids' spaces, and year-round classes under one roof. Locals are already joining for fitness, social connection, and on-site Intermountain Health services, including primary care and physical therapy, making it a new hub for wellness and community gatherings across all ages.
   

5. Blue angels soar into Grand Junction (kkco11news.com) — Grand Junction residents can look forward to the Blue Angels headlining this weekend's two-day air show at Grand Junction Regional Airport, with practice flights happening all week. The century-old event will also feature rare WWII aircraft and specialty planes, promising high-energy aerial stunts and plenty of local pride for attendees of all ages.
