Couple Charged In Connection With Shooting Death Of Dog
Desiree and Sean Andrews face felony charges after a pit bull was shot to death in Lakewood.

LAKEWOOD, CO — A couple is accused of shooting and killing a dog in Lakewood.
Sean Oran Andrews, 42, and Desiree Kalene Andrews, 40, have each been charged with aggravated animal cruelty and possession of a weapon by a previous offender, the 1st Judicial District Attorney's Office announced Monday. Desiree Andrews also faces three counts of violation of bail bond conditions.
On Aug. 1, officers were called to 12th Avenue and Teller Street around 7 a.m. and found a female dog — a pit bull mix — who had been shot to death.

Witnesses said they saw a man and woman park near the intersection and get out of the vehicle. The two appeared to be arguing, and the woman then shot the dog while the man was struggling with it and holding it down, police said.

The two then took off in the car and left the dog on the street, according to witnesses.
A surveillance video of the couple and their vehicle was released, and the pair were arrested Thursday.
The couple is scheduled to appear back in court Sept. 10.
