JeffCo Teen Fugitive Nabbed In Denver: Sheriff
Juvenile inmate Manuel Andrew Martinez, 17, was caught five days after jumping out of a sheriff's transport van in Lakewood.

GOLDEN, CO – After five days on the lam, JeffCo teen fugitive Manuel Andrew Martinez, 17, was taken into custody Tuesday, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.
Martinez jumped from a JeffCo transport van July 26 in Lakewood while being transferred from a courthouse to a youth facility in Lakewood, the sheriff's office said. Martinez was not handcuffed and opened the van door near U.S. 285 and Wadsworth Boulevard.
Martinez, who was a resident-in-custody at Mountain View Youth Services Center, was captured around 12:15 p.m. near the intersection of Morrison Road and West Ohio Avenue in Denver, the sheriff's office said. He was arrested on a warrant for escape.
