Littleton Coronavirus Update: 211 Request, Closures, Resources
Here's the latest news about the new coronavirus in Littleton.
LITTLETON, CO — Jefferson County Public Health and the Tri-County Health Department rescinded their local stay-at-home orders Thursday and adopted the state's order, which is set to last through April 11. In a joint statement, the departments said the adoption will ensure that the orders' requirements "are consistent across the state" so that it's easier for residents to follow.
As of Thursday afternoon, there were at least 15 COVID-19 cases reported in Littleton, health officials confirmed.
In a public update issued Thursday to Littleton residents, the city said many 911 emergency systems are being "inundated" with COVID-19 questions. Instead of calling the emergency number, the city is asking residents to call 211. The 211 'resource navigators' are available 24/7 and have access to translation services, so they can communicate in over 170 languages, the city said. Coloradans can also reach 211 toll-free by dialing 866-760-6489 or by visiting 211Colorado.

The city has closed the two community gardens on Shepherd Avenue and Berry Avenue through at least May 1. Staff will reassess in late-April and open the gardens with new rules to ensure the health and safety of all, the city said.

The annual Arbor Day Spring Tree Program will continue, officials said. The city will work with the tree supplier to deliver trees to all residents who have paid for them. Participants will be contacted within the next two weeks, the city said. The drop-offs will require no physical contact between staff and residents.

While the Littleton Center is closed to the public, the building division is open with modified operations. Permits are being issued and inspections are continuing to be performed, but there may be some delays, the city said. Submission of permit applications and associated documents through electronic means is "strongly encouraged," as well as grouping of inspections as much as possible to reduce the number of visits and interactions with inspectors, officials said.
