Littleton Coronavirus Update: Closures, Cancellations

Here are the latest updates on closures in Littleton.

LITTLETON, CO — The City of Littleton Leadership Team is meeting daily to monitor developments in the spread of the new coronavirus, the city said. The team is making adjustments to city programs in response to advisories from the Tri-County Health Department and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

The Littleton City Council's Special Meeting at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday has been canceled, officials said. The meeting, which will be open to the public, was expected to clarify the ratification the city manager’s Emergency Declaration. As of Tuesday afternoon, the meeting had not been rescheduled.

The City of Littleton has issued a list of the following updates to residents:

  • All city buildings will remain closed to the public (Littleton Center,Municipal Court, Bemis Library, Littleton Museum, Belleview Service Center), and all meetings of city council and boards and commissions are postponed until at least April 3. The closures include the Omnibus and Shopping Cart senior and disabled transportation services. An assessment of conditions and future plans will be made at that time.
  • The city is urging people not to drop off library items until further notice. There will be no overdue fines and all due dates will be extended, the city said.
  • Littleton Police are asking citizens to submit reports of minor incidents online.

  • Recruitment for non-essential vacant positions at the city are suspended until further notice.
  • Planning and development staff continue to operate remotely and will maintain as many business operations as possible, the city said. Requests for building inspections should be grouped together for a single site to limit the number of times an inspector is deployed. There will be no Rapid Residential Permit Review service until further notice.
  • The city’s primary reception phone number — 303-795-3700 — will remain staffed and mail delivery will be accepted. City staff are available by phone or email, and in some cases via video chat.
  • Code enforcement staff are working remotely but not responding to complaints at this time, the city said. Code enforcement issues should be reported online using SeeClickFix. Visit the city website to sign up for an account.
  • Call the municipal court at 303-795-3837 to resolve a parking or traffic citation or email courtweb@littletongov.org. A citation can be paid here or dropped off payment at the box in front of the building. For other cases, call Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to have a case resolved or continued. For surety bonds, contact the bondsman to have consent of surety faxed to 303-795-3841. In-custody cases will be handled by phone or electronically. For victims of domestic violence, call 303-419-8315 or 303-795-3703. Answers to other questions about public defender representation, probation, active warrants, community services hours, etc. can be found on the city’s website.
  • In the event of a snow storm, city crews are ready to respond with snow plowing operations. Streets, grounds and facilities staff continue to work on site.

"The city council and staff appreciate citizens’ patience and understanding as steps are implemented to minimize the risk of COVID-19 spread," a city public notice read. "Further updates will be provided whenever dictated by new developments."
