Student In Custody After Shooting Outside Sheridan High School
A student turned himself in after a shooting in the parking lot of Sheridan High School.
SHERIDAN, CO — A student turned himself in to police after a shooting earlier this week in the parking lot of Sheridan High School, police said.
A Denver student was shot in a fight in the school parking lot during a volleyball game between Bruce Randolph and Sheridan High schools.
Officers were called to the school Tuesday at about 7:45 p.m. and the school was placed on lockdown during the investigation.

The victim was taken to Denver General Hospital for surgery and he's expected to survive. He attends John F. Kennedy High School in the Denver Public School District, police said.
The youth who turned himself in is a student at Sheridan High School, 3201 W. Oxford Avenue, authorities confirmed.

The Sheridan School District canceled classes at all its schools Wednesday after the shooting.
