• Loveland settles lawsuit for $42K over muted public comment (bizwest.com) — Loveland will pay $42,500 to settle a First Amendment lawsuit after a resident's remote public comment was muted during a City Council meeting about the Costco-centered Centerra development. The case prompted officials to revisit and clarify council meeting rules, with the mayor acknowledging the need for better protections so residents can speak without fear of being silenced.
   

• Invasive mudsnails found for first time in Larimer County lake (coloradoan.com) — Loveland-area boaters and anglers should know that invasive New Zealand mudsnails have been confirmed in Carter Lake, the popular reservoir just southwest of town. Colorado Parks and Wildlife warns the snails are nearly impossible to remove and will step up inspections and decontaminations, urging visitors to carefully clean boats and gear to protect other waters.
