• Colorado wildfire roundup: New fires reported in Elbert, Las Animas and Huerfano counties (gazette.com) — A new wildfire called the Broken Tire fire ignited about 20 miles southwest of Trinidad on Wednesday afternoon, adding to Colorado’s already intense fire season. It was reported at 2 acres around 3 p.m., while other large fires across the state continue to force evacuations and strain firefighting resources.
