CT Weather: Heavy Rain, Flooding Concerns Monday
As we head back to work on Monday, the weather will once again be a dreary mess. Here's the timeline of our next storm.

Connecticut won't need to worry about drought conditions for a long, long time. Once again, a heavy rainstorm is in our immediate future where 1 to 2 inches of rain, flooding concerns and strong winds are forecast for most of Monday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for the coast of Fairfield and New Haven counties from noon to 3 p.m. Monday.
"There is a low threat of property damage. Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Expect around 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding," the National Weather Service says.

In Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties, a Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued in advance of Monday's storm.
"Another soaking rainfall is anticipated Monday afternoon into early Tuesday morning. This may result in some minor river and small stream flooding. Precipitation type will generally be rain...but it still remains possible that it becomes cold enough for a period of accumulating wet snow along the high terrain along the east slopes of the Berkshires and perhaps even far northern Worcester Hills," the NWS says of Northern Connecticut.

In Litchfield County, the precipitation may begin as a mix of light and snow and rain before it quickly changes to all rain. One inch of rain is expected here before it ends late Monday.
Timing of the rain
"Dry conditions will continue through tonight before an approaching low pressure system brings another round of rain to the region during the day on Monday. As the low approaches, rain will overspread the area from west to east Monday morning, becoming heavy at times during the afternoon and evening before tapering off Monday night. ... Dry but breezy conditions will then return for Tuesday as the low departs to the northeast.
After near normal temperatures on Monday, temperatures will fall back below normal on Tuesday, with highs remaining in the 40s and lows Tuesday night falling below freezing across most of the area."
