CT-Based Pizza Chain To Take Over Preston Pizzeria

After three years of operation, a Preston pizza restaurant and bar is set to close Dec. 29.

PRESTON, CT — A pizza restaurant and bar in Preson is closing after being open for three years in the rural, New London County town, with a Connecticut-based pizza chain set to take over.

The owners of Village Pizza & Bar shared the "bittersweet news" on its Facebook page and website earlier this week.

"After 3 wonderful years, we are sharing some bittersweet news—it's closing time for Village Pizza," wrote the owners of the 353 Route 165 eatery.

Village Pizza's owners said the location is slated to become a Square Peg Pizzeria, a small, Connecticut-based pizza chain that has restaurants in Glastonbury, Berlin, Newington, Storrs, Vernon, Plainville, and Delray Beach, Fla.

"Our friends from Square Peg Pizzeria will be taking over the space, and we’re thrilled that they’ll be keeping our amazing staff, who we love and fully support," wrote Village Pizza.
