Original story: Snow accumulation estimates are rising across Connecticut and the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the entire state on Sunday.

First, the weather service said that areas of black ice are possible Saturday night.

"Roads remain wet from earlier precipitation, and with light winds and temperatures falling into the 20s and lower 30s, areas of black ice may develop. Motorists and pedestrians should use extra caution. Reduce speed, allow extra time, and be prepared for slippery travel.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for all of Connecticut from Sunday morning until Sunday night.

"Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches," the weather service said concerning the entire state.

Snow is expected to begin around 9 a.m. Sunday and continue through Sunday night.

"A new Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Sunday into Sunday night covering eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and all of Connecticut," the weather service said. "Snow is expected to begin Sunday morning or afternoon, with the heaviest accumulation occurring late Sunday afternoon and evening. This is primarily a coastal storm, with the greatest impacts in southeast Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Precipitation will end after midnight."

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 32. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Sunday: Periods of snow, mainly after 7am. High near 34. Calm wind becoming northeast around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Sunday Night: A 40 percent chance of snow before 1am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 22. Light and variable wind.
