Charlotte Perkins Gilman: Woman, Writer, Suffragette
Join us via Zoom on Thursday, June 4 at 7PM, when three local feminist scholars discuss the suffragette Charlotte Perkins Gilman from four different angles: her biography and personal history with Dr. Kelly L Marino, Departments of History and Women’s Studies at Sacred Heart University; a literary analysis of her famous short story, “The Yellow Wallpaper” with Dr. Aimee Pozorski, Department of English Central CT State University; and a film analysis of the 2012 adaptation of “The Yellow Wallpaper” with Dr. Karen Ritzenhoff, Department of Communication at Central CT State University. Together, we hope not only to illustrate the legacy of one important women’s advocate, but also, through this one important example, the legacy of the suffragette movement overall.
