As we look toward the 2014 baseball season, we anticipate several openings on our board of directors. The board meets monthly on a year-round basis to plan and implement league operations. Each board member is responsible for specific aspects of running the league, as well as special projects that periodically occur. The scope of the board's work includes fund-raising, marketing, web site administration, uniforms, equipment, field maintenance, and all other aspects of administering Avon Little League and Softball.
No baseball or softball experience is necessary, but a significant amount of time is required. Board members are expected to participate in a democratic decision-making process, then be able to work independently within the guidelines determined by the board.
