Avon Old Wheeler Lane Bridge Superstructure in Poor Condition
The bridge is more than 50-years-old and in dire need of replacement or refurbishment.

Town officials plan to either replace or repair the bridge on Old Wheeler Lane.
The project likely won’t begin until summer 2016, according to the Hartford Courant. A federal program will help pick-up a large portion of the costs.
Superintendent Gary Mala said he was assured that work would be done before the start of the school year. The bridge was built in 1964 and is in serious need of refurbishment.
