Avon Part Of Upcoming National Beer Day

AVON, CT - April 7 is National Beer Day! On March 22, 1933, President Franklin Roosevelt took the first step in ending Prohibition by signing a law that once again allowed people to legally brew and sell beer for the first time in thirteen years. The law was enacted on April 7, 1933. In 2009, National Beer Day was created!
Celebrate on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Avon Free Public Library with author and noted “Beer Snob” Will Siss. Mr. Siss started writing his “Beer Snob” column in 2005. He wrote “Connecticut Beer: A History of Nutmeg State Brewing” in 2015. His program will focus on the history of beer in Connecticut from Colonial times to the present day. He will share information about local breweries and teach you how to drink like a “Beer Snob.” His book will be available for purchase for $22 following the program.
