Avon Police Chief Faces Suspension
The police chief, who has faced controversy in the past, has been suspended by the town.

AVON, CT — Avon Police Chief Mark Rinaldo has been suspended though the reason for the suspension is unclear. The Hartford Courant reported that Town Manager Brandon Robertson alerted the town council about the suspension Friday.
Senior Lieutenant Kelly Walsh is now in charge in Rinaldo's absence. Rinaldo has served with the department since 1998.
However, his tenure as chief has been marked by controversy, according to The Courant. In 2010, the police union voted no confidence in his tenure.
