Coronavirus Avon Update: Town Offers Tax Relief Programs
The town has passed two tax relief measures in response to the pandemic.
AVON, CT — The town has adopted two tax relief measures to help those affected by the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic. The first measure is the deferral program, which allows a three-month grace period to pay taxes without any interest.
Sewer use payments originally due April 1 will now be due July 1. Real estate, motor vehicle, and personal property taxes originally due Aug. 3 will now be due Oct. 1.
The town is also offering a low interest rate program that reduces loan rates from 1.5 percent per month to .25 percent per month for April, May, and June of this year.
