AVON, CT — Here is a look at how Avon voted in the 2016 Election:

Registered voters in Avon were at the polls early on Tuesday for the 2016 election.

As of noon, 1,864 people had already voted at Roaring Brook School and 1,568 were out by lunchtime at the fire house. That is 46 and 45 percent of the eligible turnout, respectively. They are two of the three polling locations in town.

Avon resident Susan Rietano said she was met with a crowd.

"I voted at Roaring Brook at 11:15 a.m., expecting a short line and surprised to see it extended outside the school," she said. "Fortunately I had ridden my bike, so I didn't have to fight traffic in. But the line, once I entered, was quite long. People were very friendly."
