Funeral for Hartford Firefighter Kevin Bell in Bloomfield Monday

The funeral for fallen Hartford Firefighter Kevin Bell will be held on Monday in Bloomfield, according to Mayor Pedro Segarra.

The funeral will take place at 10 a.m. at First Cathedral Church.

Bell, 48, died Tuesday night after fighting a two-alarm fire in Hartford. Three other firefighters were injured, one of whom has burns over 10 percent of his body.

Bell had been a member of the department for six years.

Bell’s family said they would remember him as a hard worker who was excited to become a firefighter later in life, according to the Hartford Courant. An investigation into the fire is underway.
